What grade of lumber are the hive kits made from? Pura hive bodies & supers are made from select- and commercial-grade pine. There will be occasional tight knots, though not in structurally integral locations (i.e., joints, handles, frame rests).
What color of foundation do the frames come with? The deep frames come pre-installed with black foundation. The medium frames come pre-installed with yellow foundation.
How much beeswax is coated on the frames? Our hive and super kits come pre-installed with double-waxed frames.
Is assembly required? No. The hive kit comes ready to go, right out of the box.
